To start the web design process, you will need to sign up with Bluehost.
Bluehost is one of the largest web hosting services out there. There are different plans to fit your individual needs. For our plan, we have shared hosting (plus) for 12 months. Again, it depends on your needs.
Once you find a plan, you’ll want to register a domain name. The type of domain you use (.com, .net, .org, etc) will vary as far as pricing. The price for Bluehost domains are billed annually (yearly).
To register a domain, you’ll want to go to Domains > Purchase Domain and then type in your desired domain in the search box to see if it’s available. Once you search the domain name, search results will appear along with pricing. Choose your desired domain and then you’ll want to assign it as a Primary Domain (if you register domains in the future, assign them as Addon Domains). For step 4, choose “Use an Existing Directory”.
There you go, you have your very own domain. Now, you’ll want to go to My Sites on the left side of your desktop and your domain should appear there as a website ready to manage.
Once you have your domain name registered, this is when we can go in and make your website visually dynamic and functional for visitors to navigate.
