There are so many tools out there that are beneficial for creatives. Today, we wanted to go through and share 5 of our favorite tools that every creative should put in their toolkit. Let’s get started.
1. Adobe Creative Cloud
We bet you aren’t surprised by this one. Adobe Creative Cloud is the industry standard for a reason. We have been using Photoshop for years. It’s definitely our favorite design tool. If you’re unfamiliar with Adobe, there are a ton of design tools available at your disposal for a monthly fee.
The entire Adobe Creative Cloud includes the following:
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Lightroom
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
- Adobe Media Encoder
- Adobe XD
The reason why we love Photoshop so much is because of how much you can do with the program. You can create anything. The only thing we wish that was available in Photoshop was the ability to hyperlink (embedding a link within text and/or images).
2. WordPress
Again, not a surprise. We love WordPress over here at JSC. More specifically, wordpress.org. If you’re curious about the difference between WordPress.org and WordPress.com, click here.
WordPress is the industry standard for a reason. While I do wish that there was more options for customizations, it’s such a user-friendly platform.
There are so many things you can do with WordPress as far as design. If you’re wanting to create your own website but don’t know where to start, click here.
3. Canva
Photoshop and Illustrator are our besties but we do use Canva from time to time. Canva is a great tool for creatives who are looking for easy ways to create graphics. There are a lot of template options on Canva.
If you’re a beginner at graphic design, this is a great tool for you.
4. Procreate
Procreate is a digital application available to download on Apple mobile devices and tablets. You can create graphics, logos, backgrounds, and so much more.
It costs $9.99. It’s worth the price. You can purchase custom brushes from other creators to achieve a desired look.
5. Google Docs
We wouldn’t say Google Docs is a “creative” tool but we wanted to include it on here but we would consider collaboration creative.
Google Docs is Google’s version of Microsoft Docs. You can create documents and send to others to edit, comment or view. It’s a great collaborative tool because it’s such a simple way to keep in touch with your peers, clients, and co-workers.
Closing Thoughts
Well, We hope this was a helpful list for all our fellow creatives out there. There are so many more tools that we didn’t list here. These are just the ones we recommend.
Thank you so much for reading!
